POSITIONING SYSTEM

Once you find the proper solution, your boards must be positioned so that the trimmer cuts them exactly where you want. Carbotech International offers three machines for this purpose.

POSITIONING SYSTEM

Positioning system

First, we developed our positioning system a few years ago to provide you with a machine capable of handling modern production rates without breaking your budget. This simple and efficient positioning system is easy to control and delivers the precision sawmills require.

Patent numbers 2,276,119 and 6,244,420

OPTIMIZED FENCE

Fence

The second option is to use a series of Temposonic fences with a transfer, rollers, and hold-downs. This classic solution lets you achieve higher production rates by using more fences to ensure perfect board positioning prior to cutting.

Option : Optimized fence with electric actuator

AIR POSITIONER

The third possibility is similar to the previous one but uses air cylinders of different strokes to position the board. This solution is less expensive but only allows the board to be positioned by fixed increments.

ACCU-GATE

We recently introduced to the North-American market a patented and revolutionary Swedish design.  A series of adjustable bumpers are synchronized and running along the side of a lug transfer.  Each of these bumpers is positioned by a servo-motor during their return stage underneath the machine.  As they emerge, they are locked in their proper location. Each board now has the entire length of the machine to be transported to its proper destination.  Even at 180 lugs per minute, this allows over 1.5 seconds for the board to be positioned to the proper location.  This allows the lateral speed of the board to be slowed down to a point where any bouncing is eliminated.  It works by pulling the boards – which is the standard – and it does not require pneumatic or hydraulic hook-ups. It can also utilize a bias chain to move the board in lieu of the standard even ending rolls to eliminate maintenance issues. This system offers many advantages over what is currently offered in the market place today: precision, speed, simplicity and ruggedness.
